St. Anna Church

Directly across from the Kirchspielkrug stands St. Anna Church, known for its “picture Bible.” Since poor people in earlier times could not read, the Bible was depicted in pictures painted on the ceiling. Take in the impressive paintings and the church’s unique atmosphere—you’ll feel as if you’ve been transported back to medieval Eiderstedt.

Historic General Store

There’s a real treasure in the center of Tetenbüll: Haus Peters, a former general store from 1820 that has been preserved in its original condition. When you step inside this historic store, you’ll feel as if you’ve been transported back in time. Why not stop by and take a look?

On a walk through Tetenbüll, you’ll see not only charming thatched-roof houses but also many other unique buildings, such as the Old School. By the way: Just outside the town center, the idyllic street in Wasserkoog—where many thatched-roof houses are picturesquely lined up side by side—is a beautiful sight.

A Journey Back in Time

Peters House

The Peters House in Tetenbüll, built in 1820, is a place steeped in nostalgia. It houses a former general store where residents of the surrounding villages used to gather to shop and chat. With its well-restored, original Biedermeier furnishings, this small museum showcases what is likely the oldest country general store in Schleswig-Holstein still preserved in its original location. Even today, the historic general store serves as a retail space for numerous products. The romantic, colorful, blooming cottage garden—with its fantastic collection of historic rose varieties—is a wonderful place to linger.

Tetenbüllspieker

The small harbor of Tetenbüllspieker is located in the northern part of the Eiderstedt peninsula. During the summer months, numerous recreational and sailing boats are moored here, ready to head out onto the North Sea at high tide. Adjacent to the harbor is the small, idyllic swimming spot Everschopsiel, which is perfect for taking a dip in the North Sea. The Spieskommer restaurant is the ideal place to refuel after a day of swimming. Quietly situated on the dike, it’s the perfect spot to wind down the day with fresh fish dishes!
