Nowhere else are events with a view of the sea as diverse as in St. Peter-Ording: the California Kitesurf Masters are annual fixtures at our event venue on Ordinger Beach, as are the Windsurf Cup and the Rock the Beach Beach Volleyball Tournament. The Kite Festival and the Nivea Beach Festival are must-attend events for families and transform this unique setting into a colorful tent city.

Action and Peak Performance

California Kitesurf Masters

The California Kitesurf Masters offer a one-of-a-kind program featuring an exciting kite contest, the world’s largest kite expo and testival, as well as an extensive lineup of side events and parties right by the ocean. For five days, an impressive tent city springs up on approximately four hectares of land right on Ording Beach.

This event promises a one-of-a-kind experience. The combination of top-class sports, the kiteboarding lifestyle, and a diverse range of beach activities makes the Kitesurf Masters a recurring highlight every year for guests and locals alike.

Top-Notch Water Sports

California Windsurf Cup

The California Windsurf Cup is one of the most popular events at Ording Beach, set against the impressive backdrop of the Wadden Sea National Park.

A special highlight of this event is “foiling.” Europe’s best windfoilers gather here to showcase this spectacular high-speed sport, in which the boards seem to hover above the water. The best windsurfers compete here on the beach at St. Peter-Ording for the European championship title.

There’s also plenty to discover on land for all ages, as the event village features various interactive zones where visitors can participate, try things out, and have fun. And if you need a break, the Food Corner offers a diverse selection of culinary delights. In the evenings, the beach parties turn the beach into a dance floor!

Rock the Beach

The Beach Volleyball Tournament

Every year, Ordinger Beach in St. Peter-Ording transforms into a huge stage for beach volleyball and beach fun. With ROCK the BEACH – the national Beach-Volleyball Series, the series makes a stop on the North Sea coast, bringing top-level competition and a varied supporting program to the beach.

In the 16-player main draws for both women and men, Germany’s best beach volleyball players compete against each other, battling for valuable ranking points and a spot in the German Championships.

Under the motto “Sports – Entertainment – Community,” spectators can look forward to top-class competition, spectacular rallies, and thrilling matches.

Kite Festival

Things are going to get colorful at the event grounds on Ordinger Strand. Oversized kites, stunt kites, one-of-a-kind creations, and characters from popular animated films and comics will soar through the skies above St. Peter-Ording.

You’ll have the chance to fly your own kite, or you can take advantage of the rare opportunity at the on-site flying school to learn how to fly a stunt kite or improve your existing skills!

But there’s plenty to discover on the ground, too. Aerodynamic sculptures and colorful ground decorations transform the beach at St. Peter-Ording into a vibrant sea of colors. For our younger guests, there’s a kids’ area, and everyone else can find a cozy spot in the shade—or in the sunshine, of course!—in the Chill Lounge.

Soccer, Beach Party, and Cleanup Event

Not every event needs a big stage. Some experiences feel special precisely because they take place right in the midst of beach life. At Beach Soccer, the Nivea Beach Festival, and “SPO klart auf,” the North Sea beach becomes a gathering place for the whole family.

Whether athletic, fun, or community-focused, these smaller beach events show just how diverse family time in St. Peter-Ording can be—even alongside the major events. At Beach Soccer, you can take your turn in goal and cheer on the teams; at the Nivea Beach Festival, you can playfully discover the importance of beach safety; and at SPO klart auf, you can gain a whole new perspective on the nature surrounding St. Peter-Ording.
