The Perfect Sauna for Everyone

A Variety of Heat

From the classic log cabin sauna with intense temperatures of 90–100 °C and regular infusions, to the stilt-house sauna, which delights visitors with its unique panoramic view of the dunes and the North Sea, to the pine sauna, which is particularly suitable for beginners thanks to its pleasant temperatures. Those who prefer a gentler experience will find soothing relaxation in the beach sanarium with its mild climate or in the seawater steam bath.

Unique & Special

Pile-House Sauna

The stilt houses are the landmarks of St. Peter-Ording. So what would a sauna area in St. Peter-Ording be without a stilt house sauna?

In our stilt-house sauna, you can enjoy a sweeping view of the dune landscape, the salt marshes, and the pier. Essential oils enhance the natural North Sea atmosphere in the sauna, which is heated to approximately 80°C. A unique sauna experience that can only be found in St. Peter-Ording.

Our Soothing Alternative

Beach Sanatorium

Admittedly, 80 to 100°C is quite a high temperature. But don’t worry. Our Dünen-Therme is also perfectly equipped for a gentle sauna experience. With a temperature of about 50 to 60°C and low humidity, our beach sanarium offers a gentle alternative to our other saunas.

Healing Effects

Seawater Steam Bath

Just like in the beach sanarium, temperatures in the seawater steam bath tend to be on the lower side, ranging from 45 to 48 °C. The humidity here is around 98%. Combined with natural aromatic oils, the seawater steam bath offers a unique way to help alleviate respiratory conditions and rheumatic ailments.

How do I use a sauna properly?

Tips & Tricks
  • Start with a quick shower and dry yourself off thoroughly. Dry skin sweats more quickly.
  • A warm foot bath beforehand helps increase blood circulation and further promotes sweating.
  • Use a large towel in the sauna to prevent sweat from getting on the wood.
  • The higher you sit, the warmer and more intense the sauna session will be. As a beginner, you should sit no higher than the second-highest bench.
  • The cooling-down phase begins immediately after the sauna session. Spending time in the fresh air is essential, as your body needs plenty of oxygen during this phase.
  • Rest periods of at least 15 minutes are important. It’s best to avoid exercising after a sauna session.
  • We recommend up to three rounds.
  • Avoid using soap during your final shower. Your skin is sufficiently cleansed by sweating.
