The Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park stretches from Denmark to the Netherlands and is thus also part of the German North Sea coast in Schleswig-Holstein. And St. Peter-Ording and the Eiderstedt Peninsula are, in the truest sense of the word, “right in the middle of it.”

Protecting our special place on Earth
To protect the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park, St. Peter-Ording and many local businesses have joined the National Park Partner Program. And admittedly, there’s much more to it than simply acknowledging that our unique natural landscape and unspoiled homeland are very close to our hearts.
Through certified environmental audits, we ensure year after year that our natural environment and the Wadden Sea habitat are protected and that valuable resources are preserved. Our visitors to SPO are also made more aware of how to interact with nature and the importance of “coastal and nature conservation” through a diverse range of offerings from tourism providers and National Park Partners.
SPO is just the thing for beachcombers, sea dogs, and sheep herders.
